University of Zimbabwe Vice-Chancellor Interview with AfricaLive
The University of Zimbabwe vice-chancellor Prof. Mapfumo has spoken with AfricaLive to highlight the role the university will play in building Zimbabwe’s innovation-led future.
The University of Zimbabwe has radically transformed itself to focus on research, innovation, and industrialization, in addition to teaching, learning, and community service, to align with the country’s vision of becoming an upper-middle-income economy by 2030.
Prof. Mapfumo highlights in the interview “what we worked on fundamentally was changing the DNA of the University of Zimbabwe. That radical change is now beginning to bear fruits. Even our connections with other institutions outside, and partnerships with other universities elsewhere, are beginning to reach new heights.”
